"The Bird"
Our bird rigs, which have been deemed "The Bird" is a daisy chain that consist of a Mold Craft Bird, 2 octopus skirts, and a Mold Craft lure. We tested and refined our bird rig in the Florida Keys and it has proven highly successful for multiple species along the entire east coast of Florida. We've rigged it multiple ways with different lure combinations over the years but have found the the original version was the best. Overly simple yet highly productive, we don't leave the dock without them. Offered in two sizes and multiple colors, you are sure to find your favorite.
Our medium bird rig is a daisy chain that consists of a Mold Craft standard bird, 2 - 6" octopus skirts, a Mold Craft Hooker, and an 8/0 Mustad 7731DT hook rigged with 12' of 200lb monofilament leader. Includes chafe protection and a bait spring for easy rigging. This is an upsize from our original bird, offering a larger profile when targeting larger species such as yellowfin tuna and billfish. Like our original, it is overly simple yet highly productive.
